Programme

The programme consists of 60 ECTS distributed in three modules. Students also must present a Master's Thesis, conducted under the supervision of one of the teachers of the Master. This Master is structured in:

MODULE I: HISTORY AND GOVERNMENT OF THE EUROPEAN UNION (18 ECTS)

1. History of European integration (6 ECTS)

2. The European constitutional challenge (6 ECTS)

MODULE II: CHALLENGES FOR EUROPE IN THE EUROPEAN INTERIOR SPACE AND INTERNATIONAL
CONTEXT (28 ECTS)

1. Economic Policies of the European Union (8 ECTS)

Common agricultural policy -Common commercial policy - Development co-operation policy - Economic and monetary union: monetary union, banking union, fiscal and employment policy- Economic and social cohesion.

2. Competition and economic regulation in the European Single Market (8 ECTS)

Free movements of goods, persons,services and capital - Consumer and environmental protection- Transport and energy - Competition policy:restrictive agreements, abuse of dominant position, mergers, state aids, monopolies and services of general economic interest.

3. The social model of the European Union (4 ECTS)

4. European Union and Globalization (4 ECTS)

External action and the role of the EU in the world - External and common security policy - Common defence policy - The external relations of the EU with the main geographical areas (USA, Asia, Middle East, Russia, the Mediterranean, Latin America...).

5. Cooperation in justice and home affairs for the challenges of the XXI century (4 ECTS)

European Area of Freedom, Security and Justice-Police and judicial co-operation in civil and criminal matters - Frontier control, inmigration and asylum - Terrorism and organised crime.
